The company now part of Fairbanks Morse Defense is rapidly growing and in need of a CNC Programmer III.
Essential Job Functions:
CNC Programming & Validation
Develop optimize and validate CNC machining programs for defense components.
Simulate toolpaths to detect and prevent errors before production.
Ensure CAD programming aligns with manufacturability and process efficiency.
Process Optimization & Material Understanding
Analyze engineering drawings BOMs GD&T and material properties to refine programming.
Optimize machining strategies for hard and soft materials including dissimilar metals.
Ensure compliance with industry standards tooling design and defense tolerances.
Collaboration & Troubleshooting
Work with design engineers to enhance CAD-based programs for production feasibility.
Perform machine setup initial runs troubleshooting and post-machining inspections.
Continuously improve programming strategies and material handling techniques.
Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesQualifications Skills and Educational Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree in engineering technology or higher preferred
Advanced skill and proficiency in MasterCAM
Demonstrated advanced work holding proficiency
Experience with CAD design and its direct impact on manufacturability.
Hands-on experience with VERICUT for CNC program validation & simulation.
Strong knowledge of GD&T tooling design and defense tolerances.
Experience machining hard and soft materials including dissimilar metals.
Tool design experience a plus
US Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
Must be mechanically inclined.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Intermediate to expert knowledge of Y14.5-1994
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Works well in a fast-faced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
Proven ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
Excellent organizational analytical quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Capable of working in a customer-focused deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
