Supervise all lifting and rigging operations on-site ensuring they are executed safely and as per approved lifting plans.
Review and verify lifting plans method statements and tool box talks in coordination with the Lifting Engineer.
Ensure all rigging equipment and lifting gear (slings shackles chains etc.) are certified inspected and fit for use.
Monitor and direct rigging crews to perform tasks in line with project specifications and safety regulations.
Coordinate with crane operators signalmen riggers and safety officers to ensure clear communication and hazard control.
Conduct pre-lift inspections check load weight center of gravity and ensure appropriate rigging configurations are used.
Maintain proper documentation of all rigging activities including daily checklists and lifting gear records.
Report any incidents near misses or unsafe practices to the safety team and take corrective actions immediately.
Ensure all work complies with QatarEnergy (QE) lifting procedures and PTS-approved standards
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma / Technical certificate in Mechanical or related trade (preferred).
Certified Rigger Level 1 or 2 (as per QatarEnergy requirements).
Must have valid PTS and QatarEnergy (QE) Approval as Rigger Supervisor.
H2S Confined Space PTW and basic safety training (preferred or as per site requirements).
Experience:
Minimum 57 years of experience in rigging/lifting activities with at least 23 years in a supervisory role.
Previous experience in oil & gas petrochemical or shutdown projects in the GCC.
Strong knowledge of lifting equipment heavy lifting procedures and load charts.
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to read and understand lifting plans and technical drawings.
Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to site safety and compliance.
Effective communication skills in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Hindi or other languages is a plus.
