  • Prevent injuries slowdowns and project risks by demanding complete adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites and reporting safety regulation issues promptly
  • Conduct business with external vendors contractors and critical subcontractors to negotiate profitable contracts
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of the projects status by producing frequent progress reports
  • Lead manage and hold direct reports accountable
  • Determine the project deliverables and specifications including the project scope necessary project resources and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients engineers designers JHAs vendors and subcontractors
  • Manage the installation schedule coordinating all construction timelines and operations into an intuitive plan so the team is on track to meet deadlines
  • Supervise crew leads and subcontractors providing direction when needed to ensure the quality of the job
  • Requisition of materials equipment and services on time and within the project budget
  • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained from the appropriate authorities and ensure construction is up to code
  • Communicate billing milestones to Accounting in a timely manner
  • Keep project management tools and software up to date
  • Provide technical assistance to crew members as needed and identify areas for training
  • Check to commission reports at the end of each project. Facilitate handoff back to Sales/Service
  • Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly valued
  • Excellent time-management organizational leadership and communication skills
  • Experience using construction or project management software is preferred
  • Finished training for OSHA 30 license
  • At least one year of previous experience as a construction project manager is required
  • Understanding of solar energy systems and/or roofing is desired
  • Post-secondary credential or Journeyman-level training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Supervisory budgeting and planning experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the entire building process including building codes blueprints permits construction equipment material resources construction processes and project management principles
