Mission description
In particular the mission consists to:
- Tender Phase (ITO)
o Coordinate costing & scheduling of site activities like costs for the electromechanical installation works
o Lead the definition of contracting strategy ( sub-con / partner) and its development and application throughout ITO phases with support from EHS Quality Planning & Sourcing
o Prepare tender documents related to construction & Installation activities
o Initially prepare and arrange to take possession of the site infrastructure and develop and plan temporary and permanent site infrastructure
o Actively participate to project teams from feed stages all the way through completion.
- Execution Phase (OTR)
o Implementing Monitoring recording and reporting of the Health Safety and Environmental performance of the project site as per GE EHS standards in collaboration with Site Construction Staff
o Responsible for preparation of staffing plan mobilization of site teams & follow up of actuals vs. plan.
o Set goals and objectives for the site managers mobilized on his projects
o Liaise with design office for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works (specs designs BOQ material lists )
o Ensure Construction Operating Rhythm is deployed on all sites
o Monitoring recording and reporting of the contractor work progress along with Site construction teams
o Coordinate with the Engineering teams and consortium partner for construction oriented designs
o Coordinate Construction activities with the consortium partner (shipyard)
o Publish progress reports and provide key inputs into Project monthly reports
o Responsible for managing the risks and opportunities related to Construction & Commissioning activities
o Monitor key construction events through sample inspection of these activities to check that the contractors are complying with the contract requirements and the contractors project Quality Plan
Candidate requirements
Skills / Qualifications
An appropriate qualification in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of work experience would be advantageous but equivalent experience in construction execution and site management is also feasible.
Have appropriate health and safety experience training and qualifications in line with international standards for roles of this nature to be able to identify and stop unsafe works.
Experience
Previous experience of undertaking the role of Project Manager/ Construction Manager on a large Substation Project.
Have previous experience in the installation of key elements of the project including but not limited to the following:
Knowledge
Ability to communicate effectively and to accurately and concisely report both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in German & English mandatory
