Job Summary:


We are seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to join our team as Direct Support this role you will provide essential support to team members on shift ensuring the safety well-being and engagement of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and person-centered environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily supervision of individuals served including during activities and routines
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized service plans and general care strategies
  • Monitor and document behaviors progress and incidents accurately and consistently
  • Participate in data collection plan development and implementation processes
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with individuals served families and team members
  • Promote a safe inclusive and supportive environment
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings to stay informed and aligned with program goals

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certifications preferred
  • Prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • Effective communication skills (verbal written and interpersonal)
  • Basic math and computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a care team
  • Physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift

Requirements

Valid drivers license

Safety Care-QBS Training*

DSP certificated preferred must obtain DSP certification within 120 days (4 months) of employment.*

CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must be obtained within 120 days (4 months) of employment*

*Shore will provide training if not obtained at another location.
