HII Unmanned Systems requires an On-site Technical Representative in San Diego Ca to support U.S. Navy operations with our REMUS vehicles. Candidate will work closely with Navy personnel on-site at the NIWC-Pacific Bayside. Candidate will report to the Repair Manager. Position will be primarily on-site at the Navy facility at Point Loma.
The On-site Technical Representative acts as the primary liaison between HII project managers/customer service and the US Navy MK18 customers. Diligently documenting case notes and work orders while independently managing and organizing a personal work depot. Must be a highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative to communicate effectively and maintain continuous progress on repairs.
Candidate will perform the following tasks:
- Local Troubleshooting Support: Estimated 80% of overall effort.
- Conduct Local Training Events: Estimated 5% of overall effort
- In Water Ops Advanced Tech Support: Estimated >5% of overall effort Technical Data QA: Estimated >5% of overall effort
- Deployment Installation Support: Estimated 5% of overall effort
- Administration status reporting local coordination: Estimated 5% of overall effort
- Perform testing per specific test procedures using measuring instruments and computer test programs for vehicle systems or products.
- Provide customer support and training for new and existing customers both in house and in the field.
- Support the production and manufacturing functions.
- Support the production and assembly of test boards.
- Maintain vehicle repairs upgrades and execution of test procedures in new and existing vehicles.
- Have routine computer skills (directory structure hyperterm applications).
- Perform pre-mission tasks (vehicle mission programming vehicle checkout). Be able to recognize when something is out of spec.
- Perform post mission data download and analysis
- Perform level one troubleshooting; visual inspection use of DVM schematic reading.
- Lead normal vehicle systems field operations for testing. Design mission to perform needed tasks and get best information out of it. Have a good grasp on what to do if things do NOT go right.
- Document test results with appropriate information in a complete manner and communicate to all required.
- Read and interprets specific test procedures to properly perform and document test results.

- Perform all job responsibilities in support of Product Quality Standards.
- Communicate all design problems and bugs to the correct areas within the organization.
- Must be able to work in the field unsupervised.
