Based in our Canning Vale office you will be joining our highly regarded Operations Services team where youll provide specialist high voltage (HV) electrical technical services to support operation design investigation and maintenance of HV electrical assets and systems across WA.

Whilst this is a Perth based opportunity ad hoc regional travel will be required.

What you can expect with this role

  • Monitor and analyse the health and performance of HV electrical assets and report on findings
  • Develop and deliver designs and reports for the solution of HV electrical issues and risks
  • Advise on technical issues and risks that arise through maintenance activities
  • Undertake complex investigations and prepare reports on plant performance and maintenance problems
  • Review design and tender documentation and input into the constructability operability and maintenance of HV electrical assets and systems
  • Contribute to the development of testing and commissioning plans that meet required standards
  • Undertake and coordinate investigations of HV electrical assets and systems
  • Provide operational teams with assistance in the analysis of major faults failures or sub-optimal performance and make recommendations as to their correction and future prevention

Your skills and experience

For this role we are looking for great talent with:

  • Degree level qualification in engineering or equivalent
  • WA electrical workers licence is desirable (not essential)
  • Nationally accredited HV switching operator qualification UET12 and UEP12 is desirable (not essential)
  • Substantial experience in high voltage planned maintenance activities in compliance with Australian/Engineering Standards
  • Demonstrate competence in the diagnostic and preventative maintenance of HV Assets including: Power Transformers Protection Relays Switchgear Earthing Systems and Surge Diverters
  • Prior experience using specialised HV test equipment including Omicron Megger and Baur is essential
  • Proven ability in conducting the following testing: C/B timing tan delta Tx and cable Tx winding ratio and resistance
  • Prior knowledge and understanding of the associate IEEE standards
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive and high-performance culture with the ability to collaborate negotiate and influence both senior internal and external stakeholders
