Job Summary

Overview:

Drives commercial combination truck requiring a class A CDL between local facilities. At times longer trips may be required.

Heres what youll do:

Inspect trucks per DOT regulations and complete daily inspection sheets.
Maintain log sheets per DOT regulations.
Perform minor maintenance to the commercial trucks and trailers as required.
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Hooks and unhooks trucks to trailer hitch and transports load to designated area.
Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags labels or production schedules.
Loads unloads and moves materials within or near plant yard or work site.
Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Opens containers using steel cutters grinder crowbar claw hammer or other hand tools.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit using hand tools.
Counts weighs and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases bales or other containers.
Required to clean trucks on a pre-scheduled basis.
Required to add diesel fuel to the trucks at a designated location.

Qualifications :

Heres what youll bring to the table:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
3-5 years truck driving experience
Class A CDL with no restrictions and an active medical card
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form
This position may require long hours including working weekends and nights.
