Job Summary
We are actively looking for a motivated Senior Backup & Storage Engineer who will be responsible for implementing and managing enterprise-level storage and backup systems across on-premises hybrid and cloud environments. This role ensures data integrity availability and recoverability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable robust disaster recovery and resilience strategies.
Key responsibilities:
- Set-up and maintain Storage devices definitions and policies.
- Set-up and maintain Backup tool and corresponding applications modules definitions and policies.
- Drive and enforce standard based deployments.
- Perform periodic analysis of vulnerabilities available with the corresponding risk and impact assessment in conjunction with the providers to ensure a stable and safe setup.
- In coordination with the providers install updates and patches to hardware and software. Perform routine and preventive maintenance task.
- Analysis and propose configuration to deploy.
- Architecture and Reference Configuration definition.
- CMDB maintenance.
- Decommissioning: data migration in coordination with other teams logical disk shredding and configuration cleaning.
- Monitoring of the Backup and Storage infrastructures.
- Incident follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
- After major system events a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) has to be presented including the preventive measures to take to limit possible reoccurrences.
- Service requests follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
- Generate reports on the overall status of the services infrastructure.
Qualifications :
- At least 10 years of experience in Backup&Storage domain within a large environment.
- University degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training.
- Good knowledge in some of the following tools is required:
- Commvault
- HYCU
- SAN (Brocade)
- Storage (Hitachi) infrastructure knowledge
- PureStorage
- NetApp NAS storage arrays (FASxxxx AFFxxx) with Snapmirror
- DELL PowerScale (Isilon)
- NetApp StorageGrid S3 Objectstorage
- Cloudian S3 Objectstorage.
- Considered as a PLUS: scripting knowledge in Perl or Python; Ansible knowledge; Terraform
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies capable of self-study.
- Strong communication skills process minded and able to maintain the high level overview.
- Fluency in English (at least B2 Level). French is considered as an asset.
