What Youll Do
As a Commissioning Engineer at ABM youll be the go-to expert for commissioning medium voltage systems and equipment. Youll ensure everything is running safely smoothly and efficientlyright from the start.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Be a daily champion of safety and human performance improvement (HPI).
- Lead Job Hazard Analyses with your team to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Verify function and proper operation of medium voltage powerline carrier equipment DFRs and RTUs.
- Commission SEL and GE microprocessor relays with confidence and accuracy.
- Support RTU upgrade projects and deliver clear detailed test reports.
- Interpret complex electrical diagrams and flag any discrepancies.
- Keep your time expenses and company vehicle in top condition.
What You Bring:
- 4 years of experience in electrical testing with a focus on protection and control systems.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred
- Hands-on experience with SEL GE ABB and Westinghouse relays.
- Familiarity with test equipment like Doble 6150 Omicron CT Analyzer Vanguard CT 2000C and more.
- Proficiency in test software such as ProTest or Protection Suite.
- Experience developing commissioning test plans
- Strong understanding of NERC PRC-005-6 and safe work practices in high-voltage substations.
