Job Summary
Introduction
The State of Maryland is seeking Social Workers to fill four different types of current and future social work positions at the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) the Department of Human Services (DHS) the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) and the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS).

Department of Human Services Casework Specialist Family Services; Social Worker I II and Supervisor Family Services
Social Workers Family Services provide preventive or protective services to vulnerable adults children or families. Cases involve suspected child or adult abuse or neglect out of home placement guardianship or emergency protective orders adoption or adult case management.
The State has positions at the following levels:
- Supervisor: $94887 - $113165/year. This is the supervisory level of professional social work providing preventive or protective services to vulnerable adults children or families. Employees in this classification supervise lower-level social workers. Please view this link to apply for this role.

Department of Juvenile Services Social Worker I and Adv Criminal Justice
Social Workers Criminal Justice provide clinical and therapeutic or forensic social work services in either a criminal justice or indigent defense environment.
The State has positions at the following levels:
- Advanced: $81444 - $117737/year. Employees at the Advanced level provide expert clinical and therapeutic or forensic social work services. The level is designed for those with three years of experience providing clinical and therapeutic or other social work services to clients requiring rehabilitative counseling or forensic social work services. Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services PSCS Social Worker I Criminal Justice
Public Safety and Correctional Services Social Workers work with individuals in the criminal justice system focusing on rehabilitation reintegration and addressing issues like substance abuse and mental health within correctional facilities.
The State has positions at the following levels:

Maryland Department of Health Social Worker I-II Health Services
Health services social workers provide direct social work services to clients in a special population in a health care setting.
The State has positions at the following levels:
- Level II: $70743 - $110288/year. This level is designed for those with two years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Masters degree in Social Work.

Maryland Department of Health Social Worker I-II Health Services CI
Heath Services Social Workers CI provide direct social work services at a Court Involved Facility to clients in a special population in a health care setting. Specifically they provide services to individuals who have been found not criminally responsible (NCR) or incompetent to stand trial (IST) or who have intellectual disabilities mental illnesses or substance use disorders.
The State has positions at the following levels:
- Level II: $75475 - $117737/year. This level is designed for those with two years of experience providing clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Masters degree in Social Work.
