The Office of Legal Obligations (OLO) program is a global initiative that unites Legal Business Compliance Risk and other control functions to manage regulatory changes and ensure compliance through end-to-end traceability between laws and internal policies. Since its inception in 2017 the program is transitioning to a Business-As-Usual (BAU) state with a Legal and Regulatory Change Management (LRCM) framework to keep the Enterprise Library Application (ELA) database updated with relevant laws and regulations.
The role situated within the AWM Risk Business Management organization supports the OLO initiative and LRCM-related BAU tasks. It involves collaboration with global stakeholders including AWM Risk SMEs Legal and Compliance to address procedural and documentation gaps and develop remediation plans. The culture emphasizes innovation challenging norms and striving for excellence in Risk Management and Compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with AWM Risk SMEs to assess the relevance of regulations to AWM Risk mapping legal obligations to business processes policies and evidence of compliance.
- Maintain the Legal and Regulatory Change Management framework to ensure up-to-date mapping of legal obligations in response to business and regulatory changes.
- Develop Subject Matter Expert in OLO processes working with Legal Compliance Risk and other partners for consistent interpretation of obligations.
- Maintain reference data for obligation mapping including business activities legal entities and applicable countries.
- Compile gap analysis data and coordinate with AWM Risk SMEs to address identified gaps.
- Help in resolving issues identified by Quality Assurance and audit processes.
- Prepare monthly reports on obligation status and regulatory events using Tableau Alteryx and SharePoint.
- Stay informed on developments and implement best practices.
- Regularly review changes to existing obligations and new guidance from regulators.
- Create presentations on OLO metrics for management review to support program deadlines.
Required Skills Experience and Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of a bachelors or equivalent qualification with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable with reading and interpreting legal text as a layperson (note: formal legal qualifications are not required)
- Proactive action-oriented and possess analytical skills to effectively solve problems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks adapt to changing priorities and manage tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively summarize complex information.
