Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons for Year 1 pupils following the National Curriculum and reflecting the schools Catholic ethos.
• Differentiate teaching to support the diverse learning needs of all pupils ensuring that each child makes excellent progress.
• Create a nurturing inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes early learning and development.
• Use effective assessment methods to monitor pupil progress and inform future teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the leadership team to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
• Communicate positively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress wellbeing and spiritual development.
• Participate actively in the wider life of the school including assemblies liturgical celebrations and community events.

Year 1 Teacher Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 ideally in Year 1.
• Strong understanding of early years and Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment.
• Excellent classroom management communication and organisational skills.
• Passionate about creating engaging child-centred learning experiences.
• A team player with a reflective and collaborative approach to teaching.
