Job Summary
Position: Senior Accountant
Client Location: Nashville TN
PositionType: Contract
FOCUSPOINT is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support the accounting team of a healthcare client. This contract role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in financial accounting and a passion for operational excellence. The selected candidate will play a key role in preparing and analyzing financial data supporting audits and maintaining reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger activities including journal entries account analyses and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare monthly reconciliations with supporting documentation
- Review and process Accounts Payable transactions including Referral Source Check Requests
- Assist with tax work papers cost reports and audit documentation
- Monitor shared inbox and respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and promptly
- Maintain daily reporting systems and ensure data integrity
- Uphold confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies
- Support additional accounting tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from a four-year accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in financial accounting or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Business Objects
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal
- Familiarity with financial and analytical reporting systems preferred
- Ability to interpret statistical data and ensure accuracy in reporting
