Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to a culturally diverse veteran patient population.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age-related needs of the adult and geriatric population.
- Perform patient assessment and provide appropriate care based on sound theoretical and technical basis.
- Use sound clinical judgment in ensuring the delivery of care to patients.
- Recognize and understand arrhythmia significance and initiate appropriate nursing measures.
- Organize care delivery in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to promote continuity and accountability for patient care.
- Ensure documentation is informative complete accurate consistent concise and timely.
- Interpret and assure compliance with policies and procedures of VHA Directives and Handbooks OIG requirements and other accrediting bodies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by ACEN or CCNE or equivalent foreign nursing education.
- Current full active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State Territory or Commonwealth of the United States.
- Med-Surg experience preferred.
- BLS certification required.
