About the Role

We are seeking an EPIC Developer Intern to support our internal healthcare IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will have some prior exposure to EPIC development or healthcare IT systems with an interest in expanding their skills in building and integrating EPIC modules. This internship provides hands-on experience with EPIC programming healthcare workflows and system integration working alongside EPIC-certified developers and architects.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design development and customization of EPIC modules under the guidance of senior EPIC-certified developers
Support integration between EPIC and other healthcare/enterprise systems (HL7 FHIR APIs)
Develop test and maintain EPIC reporting tools (Clarity Cogito Chronicles)
Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business analysts and healthcare stakeholders
Document workflows processes and technical designs for assigned tasks
Troubleshoot and resolve basic EPIC-related issues with guidance from mentors

Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems Healthcare IT or related field
Past EPIC experience preferred (such as coursework internships or prior work with EPIC modules reporting or interfaces)
Strong programming foundation in at least one language (Python Java C# or SQL)
Familiarity with healthcare workflows EMR/EHR systems and interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR)
Strong analytical communication and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure to EPIC Hyperspace Chronicles Clarity or Reporting Workbench
Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA PHI handling)
Experience with APIs data extraction or integration in healthcare projects
Coursework or internship experience in healthcare IT
