Job Summary
As an Application Lead you will lead the effort to design build and configure applications acting as the primary point of contact. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that application requirements are met overseeing the development process and providing guidance to team members. You will also engage in problem-solving activities ensuring that the applications are functioning optimally and meeting the needs of stakeholders. Your role will require you to balance technical expertise with effective communication ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute non in-place OS/DB migrations for SAP ECC SAP PI SAP GRC and SAP Solution Manager systems.
Perform full system export/import using SAP SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager).
Prepare target environments and validate compatibility of SAP systems with Windows Server 2019 and MS SQL Server 2019.
Work independently to manage system downtime backup strategies and ensure data integrity.
Conduct pre-migration checks kernel adjustments and SAP profile configurations.
Coordinate with infrastructure and database teams to align system requirements and networking aspects.
Perform post-migration validation and testing including application connectivity RFCs and background jobs.
Troubleshoot issues related to SAP OS and DB layers during and after the migration.
Prepare documentation for each systems migration process and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Professional & Technical Skills:
8 years of hands-on SAP BASIS experience with expertise in system copies and OS/DB migrations.
Proven experience migrating SAP systems running on Windows OS and MS SQL Server.
Deep knowledge of SAP SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager) and heterogeneous system copy procedures.
Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver architecture across ECC PI GRC and SOLMAN.
Strong experience working with Windows Server (2016 & 2019) and MS SQL Server (2016 & 2019).
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the full migration lifecycle.
Proficient in SAP system administration kernel upgrades and post-copy activities.
