Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance:
Install configure and maintain servers storage systems network equipment and other data center hardware.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor the performance of data center systems identify and resolve technical issues and ensure optimal uptime.
- Physical Infrastructure: Manage the physical infrastructure of the data center including power cooling and cabling.
- Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and threats.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations changes and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaboration: Work with other IT staff vendors and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
- Staying Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in data center operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of server hardware networking protocols operating systems and virtualization technologies.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Physical Dexterity: Ability to work in a data center environment including lifting and moving equipment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Server Cisco certifications) can be beneficial.
