Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Java Microservices Developer Enterprise Services

Back-end Dev ESL: Alameda CA (Need local) 3 days onsite.

6 Months contract

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Java Microservices Developer with 5 years of experience to join our team and lead the development of a robust scalable and fault-tolerant Enterprise Service Layer (ESL). This role involves end-to-end development and testing of software products within an agile lifecycle using open-source technologies and established architectural principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute end-to-end development from design and implementation to testing and deployment in an agile environment.
Partner with Solution Architects and key business stakeholders to refine product vision estimate effort and design scalable solutions.
Develop reusable microservices using Java 11 Spring Boot 3 and Kafka following an API-first approach.
Implement event-driven architecture and containerized deployments using Docker Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure high-quality maintainable code.
Take ownership of features delivered to production ensuring they meet performance reliability and monitoring standards.
Guide and mentor junior developers conduct peer reviews and promote best practices in documentation and code quality.
Collaborate on payload alignment for third-party integrations.
Support production systems and contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring and alerting practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong experience with Java 11 Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
Hands-on expertise in Kafka SQS event-driven systems and API-first development.
Proficiency in containerization and orchestration using Docker Kubernetes and Helm.
Experience deploying and managing services in AWS EKS.
Solid understanding of TDD CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
Familiarity with e-commerce domain workflows and integration patterns.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with enterprise integration platforms including Middleware Spring Batch and Salesforce Lightning API.
Public Cloud Certification (e.g. AWS Azure) and hands-on experience with AWS services is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic Open telemetry CloudWatch and Rancher.
Solid understanding of error handling versioning and interface documentation standards.
Exposure to Jira Confluence and ALM tools with a focus on platform hygiene and governance.

Excellent oral and written communication presenting meeting facilitation negotiation decision making and problem-solving skills
Proactive problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
