Job Summary

ORACLE DBA - CONTRACT

Job Summary:

As a Senior Oracle DBA you will be responsible for the design implementation maintenance and performance of Oracle database systems. You will ensure high availability security and optimal performance of databases across production test and development environments. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional IT teams and mentoring junior DBAs.
Responsibilities:

Install configure and maintain Oracle databases (including RAC Data Guard and ASM).
Perform database tuning optimization and troubleshooting.
Implement and manage backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitor database performance and proactively address issues.
Plan and execute database upgrades patches and migrations.
Ensure compliance with data security standards and regulations.
Document database configurations procedures and best practices.
Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to support application performance.
Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership.

Qualifications:

Matric and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
Expertise in Oracle 12c/19c architecture administration and performance tuning.
Strong understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases and Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
Certifications such as OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
