Were seeking an experienced and passionate individual to deliver events and activities on the UOW campus that maximise student engagement with the role commencing in mid-January 2026. Specifically we are looking for someone that brings fun but also understands and can contribute to wellness and cultural competency in our range of services. The successful candidate will lead cultural events such as Diwali and Lunar NewAA1 Year and have responsibilities across both the events and wellness portfolios. This role reports to the Student Events Manager and works closely with the Student Events Lead to deliver large-scale events and entertainment programs.

Selection Criteria (300 words per answer)

  1. Tell us about a time you planned or delivered an event or initiative that catered to a culturally diverse group.
  2. UOW has a highly diverse student population and values equity diversity inclusion and belonging. How would you embed these principles into your event planning and delivery to meet the varied needs of different student groups
  3. Describe a time you collaborated with a team or stakeholder group where there were different perspectives or communication styles. How did you ensure effective communication and cooperation
  4. What effective feedback tools do you utilise to gather feedback after events Can you give an example where feedback has helped shape your future event planning

Youll have

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant qualification in health promotion public healthevent management and/or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of cultural competency and experience working with Indigenous Communities is advantageous.
  • Experience and passion for event or program planning and co-ordination including developing event management documentation and a passion for enhancing the student experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workflow multi-task and meet overlapping deadlines with a high level of attention in all aspects of work.
  • Experience managing events with over 1000 participants is advantageous.
  • Current provisional or above NSW drivers licence and ability to travel to other UOW campuses as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends where required.
