Job Overview
The Tower Deployment Technician is responsible for installing aligning and maintaining WeLink wireless equipment on towers monopoles and other structures. This role focuses on deploying WeLink radios antennas and related infrastructure to deliver high-speed internet service to customers. It requires working at heights following precise installation and alignment procedures and ensuring all equipment meets performance and safety standards.
Technicians in this role play a key part in expanding the WeLink network by bringing new tower sites online performing upgrades and supporting ongoing maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and install new tower sites and wireless equipment according to design specifications.
- Mount and align antennas radios and cabling on towers rooftops and other structures.
- Perform basic electrical and grounding work for tower systems.
- Inspect and maintain existing tower sites to ensure safety and reliability.
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE when working at heights.
- Work closely with network engineers and project managers to complete site builds on schedule.
- Document work performed and report site conditions or issues.
- Create site surveys installation reports and photo documentation
- Experience following OEM installation guides (e.g. Siklu Cambium Ubiquiti or similar 60 GHz vendors).
Qualifications
- Certified in tower climbing safety
- Prior experience in tower construction climbing or related telecommunications work preferred.
- Ability to climb and work safely at heights up to 200 feet.
- Basic understanding of RF equipment cabling and tools.
- RF propagation signal strength and interference mitigation.
- Line-of-sight (LOS) alignment and antenna azimuth/elevation adjustments.
- Strong attention to detail safety awareness and teamwork skills.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
