As a Senior Principal Software Developer (IC5) you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture scalability and reliability of enterprise AI applications like Oracle Chat. You will lead the definition of long-term technical direction partnering with applied scientists product managers and engineering leaders across teams to build secure high-performance systems that bring AI reasoning into real-world workflows.
This role combines deep technical expertise with architectural foresight. You will design the foundation that allows multiple AI agents retrieval systems and orchestration layers to operate seamlessly at enterprise scale. While you will remain hands-on with critical design and prototyping work your greatest impact will come from influencing the architecture elevating technical standards and mentoring Principal and Senior Engineers across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10 years of professional software development experience including ownership of large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven experience defining or influencing architectural direction across multiple engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in Python Java or Go and deep understanding of cloud-native distributed and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across product science and engineering functions.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and driving technical excellence across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LLM-powered systems multi-agent orchestration or AI workflow frameworks.
- Familiarity with LangChain LangGraph or similar orchestration frameworks.
- Deep understanding of performance optimization resilience engineering and observability in production AI systems.
- Experience influencing architectural roadmaps or technical strategy at an organizational level.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge skills experience market conditions and locations as well as reflect Oracles differing products industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
