Job Summary

Job Summary:
The After-School Strings Coach provides specialized small-group and individual instruction to middle school students participating in the strings program. The coach supports students in developing technical skills musicality and ensemble performance abilities in a supportive after-school environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide sectional and/or individual coaching for students on string instruments (violin viola cello bass).
Reinforce and extend classroom instruction by focusing on technique tone intonation and musicianship.
Assist in preparing students for concerts festivals and school or community performances.
Collaborate with the music director to align instruction with program goals and repertoire.
Foster a positive encouraging environment that motivates students to improve and enjoy playing music.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the music director and families as appropriate.
Maintain a safe and respectful rehearsal environment.

Qualifications:

Strong background in string performance and/or music education.
Experience teaching or coaching middle schoolaged students preferred.
Ability to model high-level musicianship and provide constructive feedback.
Effective communication and classroom management skills.
Reliability and professionalism in working with students staff and families.
