Summary
- As a Major Projects Planner on a 1-year contract with a local authority you will serve as a senior expert within the team managing complex projects and providing specialist advice. You will deputize for senior managers when needed and play a crucial role in the teams success.
- Project Leadership: Lead complex and strategically important Development Management projects including major applications and appeals at Public Inquiries.
- Negotiation & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to resolve conflicts and negotiate significant financial and community benefits through S.106 legal agreements.
- Expert Advice & Communication: Serve as the Councils senior expert spokesperson on Development Management issues prepare and present high-level reports and represent the Council at committees and public forums.
- Team Contribution: Mentor junior staff contribute to team performance management and help develop a positive customer-friendly planning service.
Essential Experience Required
- Minimum of 5 years knowledge of the legislative policy and procedural frameworks within which the planning service operates.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in Development Management.
- Proven experience negotiating on complex applications to secure community benefits.
- Experience mentoring staff.
Essential Qualification Required
- Post-Graduate qualification in Town Planning.
- Membership of or eligibility for the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
