This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.

Job Description
The Cultural & Historic Interpretation Leader is responsible for the daily operations of multiple Gwinnett County historic sites. This position will greet visitors and facilitate tours of the addition this position will be responsible for administrative support duties.


Essential Duties
  • Assist with historic research data entry exhibit development oral history interviews and historic site asset management
  • Day to day maintenance of facilities and grounds including opening & closing building general housekeeping and maintenance duties to ensure the facility is in a safe condition
  • Answer phones and greet visitors
  • Assist with completing daily weekly and monthly recordkeeping
  • Work with volunteers and interns
  • Other tasks as assigned
Public Speaking Duties
  • Provide tours of historic sites
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or evening work.

Hourly rate
Salary will be $16.80 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in history public history or museum studies AND
  • 2 years experience in historic preservation artifact management oral history research or education
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
