Job Description:
The Department of Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center invites applications for the full-time position as Assistant Professor of the Division of General Surgery. The successful candidate will work within the Department of Surgery which is fully equipped with a diverse experienced. and clinically talented faculty. Our medical center possesses state-of-the-art laboratories to further advance medical training practices and research within the discipline of general surgery. This position calls for the candidate to cover the General Surgery service line as needed at the University of Toledo Medical Center an academic level II Trauma Center. A demonstrated history of leadership academic commitment and productivity are key to the overall success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care with the Division of General Surgery meeting the standard care expected of the Department of Surgery.
Cover the General Surgery service line at the University of Toledo Medical Center as required.
Take part in teaching and serving as a supervisor mentor and instructor to medical students residents and fellows within the discipline of general surgery.
Conduct translational and basic research projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery within the state of Ohio.
Successful completion of a residency program or fellowship (if applicable)
Must meet all the institutional requirements for appointment to Assistant Professor.
Strong leadership skills an interest in teaching and clinical research with exceptional clinical ability.
