Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (includes a 60-minute break)
Schedule: 3 nights per week weekends as needed (must be able to work weekends)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner/Therapist to join the Respiratory Care team for a 2-month assignment. The ideal candidate will provide advanced respiratory therapy services to patients across adult pediatric and neonatal populations in both critical and emergency settings. This role requires strong technical expertise clinical judgment and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy care to patients in Adult Pediatric NICU PICU and Emergency Department units.

• Set up operate and monitor mechanical ventilators and other respiratory care equipment per physician orders and departmental protocols.

• Administer therapeutic gases aerosols and medications and perform chest physiotherapy and airway management procedures.

• Assess and document patient responses to therapy adjusting treatment as necessary.

• Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Respond promptly to emergency situations including rapid responses codes and airway management needs.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.

• Ensure compliance with hospital state and federal standards for safety and infection control.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA)approved Respiratory Therapy program; Associate or Bachelors degree (A.A.S./B.S.) required depending on program type.

• Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License required.

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred.

• BLS certification required; ACLS PALS or NRP certifications preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with adult pediatric and neonatal patient populations in hospital settings required.

• Strong knowledge of current mechanical ventilation techniques and ventilator operation required.

• Proficiency in basic computer applications and EMR systems.
