Compensation: Competitive hourly wage: $30$38/hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the safety functionality and appearance of SkyCares facilities hangars vehicles and grounds. This hands-on position involves performing and coordinating routine maintenance repairs and facility development projects while upholding SkyCares operational and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is a mechanically skilled self-motivated problem-solver who enjoys variety one day you may be repairing hangar lighting or heating systems the next operating equipment plowing parking lots and hangar ramps or assisting with renovations and upgrades. This position reports to the Projects & Acquisitions Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company facilities hangars crew houses and equipment.
Inspect maintain and repair company vehicles arranging external servicing when required.
Support facility development initiatives including light construction renovations and mechanical installations.
Operate maintenance equipment such as forklifts loaders snowplows and snow blowers safely and efficiently.
Maintain facility safety cleanliness and compliance with Company and aviation standards.
Assist with inventory and parts management for facilities and ground support equipment.
Collaborate with Base and Maintenance Managers to plan schedule and prioritize maintenance activities.
Perform seasonal property care including landscaping snow removal and other groundskeeping duties.
Support special operational projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial automotive heavy-duty carpentry or AME-related fields (considered an asset).
Strong hands-on repair and troubleshooting skills across a range of mechanical electrical and structural systems.
Experience operating heavy or powered equipment (e.g. forklift loader snowplow).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physically fit and able to lift or move heavy objects safely.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel between SkyCare bases as required.
Familiarity with aviation or hangar environments is considered an asset.
