In this role a typical day will include:
- Ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting within prescribed deadlines and in compliance with IFRS. Key responsibilities include
- Preparing accurate journal entries robust monthly balance sheet reconciliations and collaborating with local stakeholders for timely issue resolution.
- Actively support Financial Reporting & Accounting (FRA) Ops working style by being inclusive proactive respectful and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and Behaviors
- Act service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organization and contribute to derive to improvements/standard solutions while cultivating customer service focus culture.
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance required. Masters or Advanced degree in accounting preferred
- Languages: English proficiency - intermediate level (Conversation reading and writing
- Experience: Accounting Expertise: 3 years of hands-on experience in accounting (Mid level) with a track record of accurate accounting and financial reporting.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of IFRS balance sheet reviews reconciliations and statutory/corporate accounting.
- Inventory Accounting: Understanding of inventory valuation methods (e.g. FIFO weighted average) provisions for slow movers and impact on COGS and financial statements.
- Audit & Compliance: Experience supporting internal and external audits with a solid grasp of internal and financial controls.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel skills along with familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
- Core Skills: Excellent communication organizational and planning abilities. Strong analytical skills with a focus on delivering results within deadlines.
- Collaboration: Skilled in stakeholder management to ensure seamless coordination and outcomes.
