Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead the design and evolution of security architectures for a large-scale enterprise-level application modernization effort within a federal environment. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related decisions ensuring that the systems architecture aligns with future-state cloud and container-based strategies. The Security Architect will proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities recommend DevSecOps best practices and provide technical guidance to support modernization and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and enhancement of security architecture solutions aligned with enterprise and federal security frameworks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related decisions and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide recommendations and solutions for migrating enterprise applications to containerized and cloud-based environments.
- Drive the remediation of security vulnerabilities addressing findings from scanning and monitoring tools.
- Provide architectural guidance and recommendations for applications hosted within secured web portals.
- Define and mature DevSecOps practices integrating security into all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Coordinate activities related to security vulnerability management compliance and incident response.
- Create and maintain security documentation and deliverables in accordance with federal standards.
- Develop Level of Effort (LoE) and (V)ROM estimates to support impact assessments and planning activities.
- Participate in technical design reviews and architecture governance meetings to ensure compliance with enterprise security principles.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years developing and leading security architectures for large complex enterprise systems.
- 8 years of experience leading architecture and/or development teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills both oral and written.
- 5 years of experience designing security architectures for Cloud applications.
- 5 years of experience developing security architectures for containerized environments.
- 4 years of experience with microservices security and DevSecOps implementation.
- 4 years of experience on Linux-based platforms.
- 4 years of experience with configuration management tools such as IBM EWM and Git SCM.
- 2 years of experience with AWS GovCloud and Spring Boot security architecture.
- 3 years of experience preparing (V)ROM estimates and impact assessments.
- CISSP Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience defining requirements and architecting monitoring and observability solutions.
- Familiarity with relational database technologies and CMMI Level 3 process areas.
- Experience working within Agile or Lean delivery frameworks.
- Knowledge of Azure Government and Google Cloud for Government environments.
- Experience with WebMethods ESB API Gateways Event Driven Architecture and Kafka.
- Experience with Ping Identity and enterprise authentication frameworks.
