We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering organisation delivering large-scale groundworks projects across Ireland. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a health and safety professional to contribute to high-profile works within a progressive and safety-focused environment.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will support the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety practices across multiple sites. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager this individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation conducting risk assessments and promoting a strong safety culture across operational teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site audits inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with statutory and internal safety requirements.
Develop and deliver health and safety training programmes including toolbox talks to site personnel.
Investigate incidents near misses and non-conformances and compile detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain and update all relevant health and safety documentation systems and registers.
Support the implementation of health and safety policies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Liaise with project teams and external stakeholders to promote and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
Candidate Requirements:
Level 7 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
35 years relevant experience in construction health and safety preferably within the utilities or civil engineering sector.
Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and best practice in risk management and compliance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence site teams and promote a proactive safety culture.
Certifications in Manual Handling Safe Pass and First Aid are advantageous.
