Job Summary
Job Title: Road Foreman - INTERNAL ONLY
Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $6714.14 - $8744.03/month
Supervises the road crews in the maintenance and construction of county roads bridges drainage ditches etc.
Essential Functions
The following may not be all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Meets with the Road Superintendent to receive work assignments; provides recommendations for assembling job crews; directs the work of the crews activities at work sites which may include asphalt overlays new construction bridges paving patching ditch maintenance brush cutting chip sealing and sign and paint crews.
Reads and executes blueprints on construction work; estimates personnel equipment and supplies needed to complete assigned projects.
Inspects county roads to evaluate potential problems; makes recommendations for correction of problems.
Checks crews time cards and computer printouts for accuracy.
Advises management of potential problems or safety concerns; makes recommendations for improving procedures and operations of the Road Department
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 25 employees in the Road Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years of experience in road construction and maintenance work which involves the ability to supervise; knowledge of road and bridge maintenance; methods techniques and materials required for roadway roadside bridge and drainage construction and maintenance operations.

Salary Information
This is a salary exempt position with a wage range of $6714.14 - $8744.03 per month. The pay range listed here reflects the FULL pay range for this position for the current fiscalyear. Salary offers are based on the candidates equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
