Senior Underwriter Inland Marine
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter Inland Marine to join an underwriting team. This role is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of inland marine business focusing on profitability growth and relationship management. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in inland marine coverages and strong broker relationships to drive success in a competitive marketplace.
Salary
- $110000 to $130000/year
- Annual bonus target

Job Description
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of inland marine accounts including builders risk contractors equipment transportation and other specialized property risks.
- Analyze risk submissions set terms and conditions and determine pricing within assigned authority levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers clients and industry partners.
- Negotiate with brokers to secure new and renewal business in alignment with company profitability goals.
- Collaborate with actuarial claims risk engineering and other internal partners to deliver tailored solutions.
- Stay informed on market conditions competitor activities and emerging risks impacting inland marine.
- Mentor and support junior underwriters by sharing technical expertise and market knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree required; industry designations (CPCU AMIM ARM etc.) preferred.
- 510 years of inland marine underwriting experience preferably with a mix of middle market and large account business.
- Strong technical knowledge of inland marine products forms and industry-specific risks.
- Established broker and client relationships in the inland marine market.
- Excellent negotiation communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative underwriting team.
