About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation of stamping presses and related production equipment. This position focuses on troubleshooting repairing and maintaining mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hydraulic mechanical or servo-driven presses and a strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on stamping presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose troubleshoot and repair mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Replace and align worn or damaged components including bearings gears seals and cylinders.
- Collaborate with production teams to coordinate repairs and reduce equipment downtime.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records logs and documentation.
- Conduct press calibration checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all OSHA safety regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Read and interpret blueprints mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or associate degree in industrial maintenance mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
- 25 years of experience maintaining or repairing mechanical stamping presses including hydraulic mechanical or servo-driven types.
- Strong knowledge of press components such as dies feeders straighteners rollers bolsters clutches and brakes.
- Proficiency with hydraulic pneumatic lubrication and mechanical drive systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and perform precision repairs.
- Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers calipers and dial indicators.
- Familiarity with lockout/tagout protocols and OSHA safety requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
Desired Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls.
- Experience with welding fabrication or machining.
- Previous experience in a high-speed manufacturing or metal stamping environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
