Job Summary

Founding Software Engineer (NYC)

We are recruiting a Key founding role for our client in NYC who is building the modern data platform for alternative investments. Private markets are expected to surpass $24 trillion by 2028 yet most firms still rely on spreadsheets and legacy systems. Our Client is changing that and were looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join our client at the ground floor.

As one of the first engineers youll work directly with the founding team and leading investment managers to design core infrastructure shape the product roadmap and establish the technical culture that will define the company for years to come.

What Youll Do

Build scalable infrastructure to standardize data management across asset classes.
Develop pipelines for ingesting transforming and analyzing structured and unstructured investment data.
Partner with customers (some of the largest alternative investment managers) to deeply understand workflows and translate them into product features.
Shape engineering culture by setting standards for code quality technical decision-making and hiring.

What Were Looking For

5 years of experience in backend/API development (Python Java or Go).
Strong experience with cloud technologies such as AWS Redis and Temporal.
Proven track record of designing and shipping scalable reliable systems.
Collaborative self-driven mindset with a bias toward action and ownership.
Bonus: experience building AI/LLM-enabled tools or agentic systemsor a strong personal interest in leveraging AI in development.
