  • A university degree or equivalent experience in construction management logistics or a related field.
  • 7 years of relevant industry experience in material management logistics or yard operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team or function and influence across disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge of materials handling principles inventory control systems and field logistics practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skillsable to clearly inform persuade and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership accountability and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with material management software inventory databases and digital tracking systems.

Play an integral role in driving the success of our construction and materials management operations. As a Laydown Supervisor at Worley you will lead a team that ensures materials are efficiently received organized and distributed to support seamless project execution. Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing all laydown yard activities on site ensuring the safe efficient and timely handling of materials. This includes managing inventory coordinating logistics with construction and procurement teams and maintaining clear organized systems for material control. The role is essential to maintaining project flow minimizing delays and ensuring accuracy in the delivery and use of critical materials.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the laydown yard ensuring materials are safely received stored and distributed to the work fronts.
  • Plan and manage space utilization layout and traffic flow to maximize efficiency and minimize congestion.
  • Work closely with construction procurement and project controls teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of material receipts inspections and movements.
  • Enforce safety standards site procedures and environmental requirements at all times.
  • Lead coach and develop yard personnel to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve logistical or systems-related issues related to material handling and storage.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers to coordinate material deliveries and mitigate potential project impacts.
  • Support audits inspections and reporting as required by project leadership.
