Reporting to the Director of Northern Partnerships Virtual Care and ECHO and working closely with the Medical Head of the Psychiatric Partnerships with Northern Communities at CAMH and Medical Head of TeleMental Health the full-time permanent Manager will oversee the Northern Outreach and Virtual Care program. This program provides clinical outreach service and education to underserved areas in Northern Ontario & Nunavut through a hybrid service model of in-person (fly or drive in) and virtual care services.

This role will manage and coordinate all aspects of the Northern Outreach and Virtual Care program including: clinical service delivery quality improvement education research and evaluation financial management and human resources as well as any relevant special projects.

This role will support the coordination of clinical service delivery including developing processes to ensure aligned and efficient workflows and leading quality improvement initiatives to optimize daily operations and help advance the Northern Outreach and Virtual Care program within the field of outreach and increase the quality of services the program delivers. The manger will work collaboratively with internal and external interest holders to implement program development initiatives including partnerships to support continued integration and alignment of CAMH Outreach services within northern communities. This includes the development and maintenance of relationships with partner sites. This role will oversee the coordination of consultant and resident outreach activity along with supporting continuing medical education for those delivering care to enhance program delivery. The manger will engage in evaluation of the programs and services including research related to the impact of the Northern Outreach and Virtual Care program through improving capacity in underserviced addition this role will be responsible for the management and coordination of knowledge translation exchange & mobilization (KTEM) projects that will strengthen the overall portfolio and the field. These include initiatives focused on Indigenous mental health and wellness developmental trauma and arts-based therapies. The manager role is responsible for the ongoing administration relating to budget management reporting on activity and outcomes of the services to funders (i.e. Ministry of Health) and monitoring performance of the program. This role will ensure that funding is spent in accordance with funder agreements and Ministry requirements. The manager will manage human resources of northern outreach staff; including scheduling/payroll recruitment performance management team planning development implementation and evaluation as well supporting staff professional development and providing direct supervision to members of the administrative team. The manager may be called upon to represent Management by participating in negotiations with Bargaining Agents. This role will ensure that all program activity is conducted in accordance with CAMH policies. This position is currently located at 1051 Queen Street.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Masters Degree in Business Health or Public Administration
  • Three years of related experience managing complex budgets program planning and driving quality improvement initiatives including process redesign
  • Experience with partnership development community engagement methodologies and co-design principles
  • Experience working in an academic teaching hospital with physicians in medical education is an asset
  • Experience leading a team to achieve superior results supervisory experience within a unionized environment is an asset
  • Familiarity with Northern Ontario communities and/ Nunavut is an asset.
  • Experience with qualitative research methods is an asset.
  • Certification in quality improvement and/or project management methodology is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of mental health and addictions systems as well as provincial healthcare systems and policy development as they relate to psychiatric outreach and virtual care service delivery
  • Knowledge of diversity and cultural competence particularly for First Nations Inuit and Metis populations
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software including Microsoft Office (Excel Power point Word Access) REDCap Zoom/Webex. Familiarity with OTN/e-Health is an asset.
  • Excellent judgment tact and diplomacy to work with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills (oral/written) exceptional organizational skills and professionalism
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
