SUMMARY:
The tenure-track Assistant Professor of Public Administration (with Political Science / Public Policy support teaching) at East Texas A&M University (ETAMU) will teach core courses in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program with additional contributions to upper-division undergraduate courses in Public Policy within Political Science. An active research agenda student advising and service at the department college university and professional levels are expected. Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in shaping and directing the launch of our new Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) programs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
4/4 standard teaching load. Faculty are eligible to apply for competitive course releases to support significant research publication projects and grant activity.
Teach MPA foundational courses such as Public Policy Analysis Research Methods and Program Evaluation Public Budgeting Public Management Human Resources Administrative Law and Capstone/Applied Project.
Teach undergraduate Public Policy courses aligned with expertise such as policy process analysis implementation state and local policy intergovernmental relations or evidence-based policy analytics.
Develop deliver and assess courses with attention to learning outcomes in both face-to-face and online modalities.
Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed scholarship.
Mentor graduate students not only in research but also in applied and field opportunities that prepare them for professional success.
Provide academic advising mentorship and student support.
Engage in service to the department college university and professional community.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Ph.D. in Public Administration Public Policy or Political Science (policy field) by start date.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Evidence of teaching effectiveness or strong potential for teaching MPA foundational courses; emerging record or strong potential for peer-reviewed scholarship; ability to teach online and face-to-face.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Strengths in program evaluation policy analysis/analytics or public finance.
Experience with NASPAA-aligned outcomes assessment and capstone supervision.
Grant activity is encouraged and supported through institutional resources.
