Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated MRI Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images ensuring patient safety and comfort and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree preferred.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRT (New Mexico licensure) required.
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologists R.T. (MR) (ARRT)
  • Or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist ARMRIT required.
  • BLS Certification is required at the time of hire.
  • Registered Technologist Trainees/Apprentices:
    • PMRT (Provisional NM licensure) required.
    • American Registry Radiologic Technologists R.T. (R) (ARRT) required.
    • Successful completion of ARRT(MR) Boards within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs patients regarding magnetic resonance imaging procedures; prepares positions and manipulates patients to ensure appropriate placement for imaging.
  • Select appropriate imaging techniques and calibrate console and peripheral hardware as required.
  • Obtains images produces film records and backups from desk to storage media and transfers for desk to workstation.
  • Inspects for quality and completeness of exam.
  • Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and laser camera.
  • Performs physical inventories and maintains clinical supplies.
  • Provides instruction and guidance in magnetic resonance imaging procedures and equipment/facilities usage to staff and/or students in training.
  • Ensures adherence to established PHS/PMG and department policies and procedures objectives quality assurance programs safety standards HIPAA and compliance regulations.
  • May assist in research and/or clinical subject scheduling.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
