KS2 Teacher & Middle Lead — Independent School in Birmingham

A forward-thinking Independent School in Birmingham is recruiting a classroom-leader: a skilled Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead to join the KS2 team on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. This senior classroom role blends outstanding teaching as a Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead with strategic responsibility for numeracy development across the school. The successful Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead will begin collaborative planning and handover before January 2026 attend a leadership induction in January 2026 and teach from January 2026 as the Full-Time Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead.

Role & impact Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead: as the Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead you will deliver high-challenge mathematics and broader Year 5 curriculum learning; design a coherent maths progression; lead moderation coaching and CPD for staff; model lessons and mentor colleagues. The Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead will run maths clubs lead enrichment projects and use assessment data to raise standards. This Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead will be central to whole-school improvement from January 2026 and will be expected to shape numeracy strategy from January 2026.

The Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead must be ready to start pre-term planning and leadership briefings before January 2026 attend induction in January 2026 and commence teaching and leadership duties from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 5 Teacher / Maths Lead.
