Job Summary

Kick-start your career at Axpo Iberia. Join our Forecasting team to build test and automate demand prediction models for Spain and Portugal working with real market data in a collaborative learning-focused environment.
What you will do:
- Ingest and clean data: SQL extraction preprocessing and feature engineering (holidays weather calendar effects)
- Build and compare models (e.g. ARIMA/ETS regularized regression gradient boosting hierarchical approaches) with time-series CV and rolling backtests
- Track model quality: MAE/MAPE/RMSE bias analysis drift and outlier detection
- Automate reproducible pipelines (scripts/notebooks light orchestration) with Git version control
- Create clear dashboards and model reports (Power BI/Tableau or similar)
- Document assumptions changelogs and learnings; collaborate with teams to capture requirements and what-ifs
What you bring & who you are:
- Must-have: Studying or recently graduated in Engineering Mathematics Physics Statistics or Computer Science
- Must-have: Python (pandas numpy) SQL and Git; understanding of time-series concepts and rolling backtests
- Must-have: Ability to evaluate models (MAE/MAPE/RMSE) communicate results clearly and work collaboratively
- Must-have: Spanish language skills
- Nice-to-have: scikit-learn statsmodels; Power BI/Tableau; Portuguese
- Nice-to-have: Energy market basics (demand drivers weather/calendar effects Iberian data sources such as OMIE/REE/REN)
