Job Summary

Manager Mechanical Engineering

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a talented team in the development production and sustainment of ground-based antennas mobile antennas and aerospace battery and charger product lines. This role requires technical leadership hands-on design expertise and active participation across proposals analysis testing and production while mentoring and managing an experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers setting priorities and managing daily operations
  • Determine staffing requirements and ensure appropriate coverage for all projects
  • Guide teams through requirements definition project planning design reviews and production releases
  • Collaborate with business development proposals design test manufacturing quality and customer service teams
  • Support all aspects of product lines including concept generation material selection trade studies design optimization and mechanical analysis
  • Identify material and capital acquisition needs and manage procurement
  • Implement new systems and processes for continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with department standards policies and technical documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree with 9 years of relevant experience or Graduate Degree with 7 years of experience; or 13 years of experience without a degree
  • Proven experience mentoring and managing engineers
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (PTC Creo and/or Solidworks preferred)
  • Experience with PLM software (Windchill preferred)
  • Strong 3D visualization drafting skills and knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T
  • Experience with structural analysis and FEA (Ansys experience preferred)
  • Design for Manufacturing machining and fabrication experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • Ability to obtain security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
