Job Summary

SH-729 Registered Nurse Richmond IN.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care and clinical leadership within our dynamic healthcare this role you will be responsible for the comprehensive coordination of patient care from admission to discharge while providing essential clinical guidance to our support staff. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker a clear communicator and a compassionate advocate for patient safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Management:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify health problems needs and conditions upon admission and throughout the care continuum.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in strict accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of patients physical and psychosocial status.
  • Respond effectively and promptly to emergency situations and behavioral interventions.

Coordination & Supervision:

  • Direct coordinate and prioritize daily patient care assignments for support staff.
  • Supervise and support unit support staff coordinating workflow and communicating performance or operational issues to unit supervisors.
  • Complete clinical supervision monitors including medication administration oversight and observational notes for support staff.

Communication & Advocacy:

  • Educate patients and their families on medications procedures and treatment goals fostering a collaborative approach to care.
  • Serve as a steadfast patient advocate ensuring patient rights and needs are met.
  • Maintain clear accurate and timely documentation including nursing notes transfer forms and electronic medical records.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Uphold and enforce all safety infection control and facility standards on the unit.
  • Ensure strict adherence to nursing protocols facility policies and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licensure:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited college; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a plus.
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Indiana.
  • Current CPR certification.

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven proficiency in computer skills and the ability to master electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex medical and facility policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stress de-escalate conflicts and work effectively under pressure.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift and transport items up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking standing bending and pushing/pulling.
  • Capacity to run short distances and safely restrain patients as per policy when necessary.
  • Keen observational and hearing skills to maintain situational awareness.
  • Work is performed in a state-operated hospital facility with potential exposure to infectious diseases hazardous materials and high-stress situations.
  • This role requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may involve rotating shifts on-call duties evenings weekends and holidays.
