Assignment Duration: 11 months (with possibility to extend or convert depending on business needs)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8-hour shifts
Position Overview:
The Pharmacist 1 will coordinate manage and participate in pharmacy services including medication dispensing clinical monitoring and patient counseling. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining quality pharmaceutical care and compliance and supports the team during an upcoming system upgrade
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate prescription orders for accuracy and appropriateness (dosage drug choice interactions etc.)
- Supervise filling compounding and dispensing activities
- Ensure complete and up-to-date patient records (medical history allergies labs etc.)
- Perform clinical interventions patient education and provider communication
- Monitor patient response to therapy and ensure compliance
- Assist with inventory control to minimize waste
- Train and support pharmacy technicians interns and staff
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and in-service programs
- Support and comply with all regulatory and quality standards
- Participate in on-call schedule as required
- For Floater Pharmacists: Provide coverage across pharmacy locations and travel up to 50%
Candidate Requirements:
Education/Certification
- Required: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Licensure: Active Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in Texas
Experience
- Required:
- 3 years in mail order retail or hospital pharmacy
- Strong customer service and verification accuracy
Top 3 Must-Have Skills:
- Accurate pharmacist verification and attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication with patients and providers
- Understanding of pharmacy workflow and compliance practices
