Summary of Duties
Key responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician includes:
Performing functions while meeting standards of accuracy and speed;
Filling prescriptions using automation and workflow management software (Symphony/Innovations);
Compounding mixtures and other necessary medications;
Completing necessary mathematical calculations;
Ensuring accuracy in cash register transactions;
Preparation of daily cash reconciliation;
Preparing orders for delivery;
Inventory management;
Ordering and receiving medications and supplies.
Must be available to work a Saturday shift as per the regular pharmacy technician rotation.
Qualifications/Skills
Qualified to be regulated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists leading to licensure as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of graduation.
Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Self-motivated to succeed and able to take initiative
Reliable and punctual
Proficient in computer and data entry skills
Previous customer service skills strongly preferred
Knowledge of retail pharmacy computer system strongly preferred (Kroll)
Knowledge of third party billing preferred
