recruiting for a full-time Administrative Officer 2
located in
Wasilla Alaska.



What you will be doing
Under the general supervision of the Protective Services Manager 2 the Administrative Officer 2 (AO 2) helps carry out the Office of Childrens Services mission by providing effective and efficient administrative management of the six field offices that make up the South-Central region. The AO 2 serves as part of the South-Central Region OCS management team whose goal is to provide protective services for the children of the State of Alaska and is the point of contact for all administrative budget fiscal personnel accounting procurement purchasing and safety matters.

We are seeking a candidate with the following competencies:
  1. Facility Management: tracks facility information negotiates parameters of leases coordinates repairs.

  2. Procurement/Purchasing: Coordinate and oversee formal procurements that are unusual have significant impact on agency operations and have a high potential for controversy.

  3. Policy and Procedure Development: Develop review and revise internal policies and procedures both administrative and programmatic. Consult with program managers to clarify problems and goals; coordinate review and comment from sub-units; and oversee implementation. Coordinate the development of statutory or regulatory changes.

  4. Travel: Travel coordination and management of a large departmental travel program.

  • All positions require valid ID and successful completion of a background investigation including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
  • The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.
