How will you make an impact in this role

American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) business offers a wide range of card and payment programs expense management tools consulting services business financing and cross-border payments solutions to small businesses mid-sized companies and large corporations around the world.
Within GCS the Global and US Large Enterprises (G&L) organization is focused on acquiring and managing 5000 large corporate customers. AXPs value proposition to this segment includes industry-leading T&E program management solutions (e.g. corporate travel cards central billing solutions) but also a growing set of business-to-business payment products to help companies govern their spending while realizing cost savings process control and cash flow management improvements.
The constantly evolving corporate travel and supplier payment landscape creates an imperative to redefine what it means to be essential to our G&L customers. As a result the mission of our team is to deliver a bold transformation journey in this segment that ensures our medium-term position is future-proofed and establishes a platform for sustainable revenue growth.
The Manager will play a core role in planning and implementing key strategic initiatives to drive forward our G&L business and ignite growth in the segment!

Role responsibilities will span all stages required to ensure a successful execution From defining the vision and what winning looks like to assisting in the execution enablement and articulation of numerous high-visibility initiatives in partnership with the relevant G&L colleagues and other functions.

The various initiatives will change & evolve but will consistently support the core pillars of its strategy:

  • Solidifying our leadership position in T&E through a future-proofed value proposition and deepening relationships with our most valued customers
  • Doubling down on the B2B potential of the segment through strong collaboration with other GCS teams (product and capabilities) and Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS)
  • Optimizing revenue to cost ratios through productivity enhancement
  • Apply innovative and strategic thinking to synthesize an understanding of customer needs marketplace & competitive dynamics financial drivers and business growth opportunities into a comprehensive strategy for the G&L segment
  • Work in a fast-paced team to implement a series of high-impact initiatives across all stages - From vision and ideas origination to pragmatic execution planning
  • Maintain close partnership with Strategy & Transformation and G&L Leadership Teams as well as other senior partners across the blue box to prioritize and manage operating plans required to reach key objectives
  • Effectively collaborate with other teams and functions to ensure consensus and thoughtful change management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrable ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear tangible recommendations
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal with comfort presenting to executive audiences
  • Strong collaborator with the ability to navigate a complex stakeholder map and influence others
  • Solid project management skills and through-put oriented individual
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize against deadlines while working independently
  • Track record of collaborating with teams to lead multiple projects and support colleagues
  • University degree or experience in corporate strategy/management consulting preferred
