Position Summary

  • Reporting to the Director of People and Culture the Organizational Development (OD) Specialist plays a key role in advancing our strategic People Pillar. As a member of the OD team this role supports individual team and organizational growth through education facilitation coaching and evaluation. The OD Specialist contributes to initiatives that enhance performance employee engagement civility equity belonging conflict resolution and sustainable changesupporting equitable patient care and high-functioning teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Apply a coach-like approach to support individuals and teams.
  • Plan design and facilitate high-quality training and development sessions using diverse delivery methods.
  • Champion inclusive practices psychological safety civility and respect across the organization.
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams to support change management team development and strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver learning materials (e.g. manuals eLearning job aids) aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Support onboarding orientation and engagement strategies for employees volunteers and professional staff.
  • Facilitate team sessions and provide feedback and evaluation to stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to assess current vs. future state and recommend change strategies.
  • Provide consultation and feedback to leaders on alignment with organizational culture values and strategic direction.
  • Support conflict resolution and civility meetings with effective tools and guidance.
  • Contribute to the development implementation and evaluation of corporate initiatives and OD programs.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration and reduce duplication.
  • Promote continuous improvement and sustainability in all OD initiatives.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • University degree in Organizational Development Human Resources Education Psychology or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Additional professional education in adult learning instructional design facilitation coaching mediation or related areas.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in OD Learning & Development or HR; healthcare experience is an asset.
  • Proven experience in event planning facilitation and project management.
  • Strong organizational time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Criminal Record Check required.

  • Expertise in learning and development including virtual and in-person facilitation.
  • Ability to design and deliver training aligned with adult learning and OD principles.
  • Strong relationship-building conflict resolution and coaching skills.
  • Experience with change management frameworks and tools.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics and balanced scorecard indicators.
  • Commitment to diversity equity inclusion and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to apply anti-oppressive approaches in organizational settings.
  • Skilled in creating engaging learner-centered content and experiences.
  • Comfortable providing authentic feedback and challenging perspectives to promote growth.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on partnership and innovation.
