Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Department Lead to join our team in Aurora CO. This position plays a key leadership role in coordinating warehouse operations managing personnel and maintaining high performance standards across shipping receiving and inventory control departments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management and team leads to establish and meet daily and long-term departmental goals.
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations ensuring all shipments are received processed and shipped within set timeframes.
- Manage labor resources efficiently to maintain productivity and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment; report any safety incidents or injuries immediately.
- Oversee equipment use ensuring proper maintenance and storage.
- Monitor workflow and communicate daily expectations to team members.
- Ensure all outbound shipments are picked audited wrapped and staged or loaded by end of shift.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and ensure all operational details are completed accurately.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams vendors and partners.
- Complete beginning-of-shift (BOS) and end-of-shift (EOS) reports within required timelines.
Personnel Management
- Lead coach and mentor team members and department leads.
- Conduct performance reviews provide recognition and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Support training for new hires cross-training and retraining efforts.
- Maintain attendance performance and incident documentation.
- Promote fair and balanced time management practices including overtime distribution.
Additional Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and professionally via email and radio calls.
- Support truck driver coordination and maintain strong working relationships.
- Oversee inventory control including cycle counts damage claims RGAs and discrepancy reporting.
- Manage UPS and Will Call operations ensuring accurate order selection customer communication and on-time fulfillment.
Qualifications
- Certified in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) usage.
- Proficient with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for 8 hours per shift.
- Strong understanding of warehouse layout operations and inventory flow.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Previous experience in warehouse or logistics supervision preferred.
